Getting back into the groove of watercolor. This was a good warm-up piece for what i'll be doing in the next coming weeks, probably do a few more little ones like this until i'm sure i'm back in step.
I like this one, i tried a sligt mix of loose and tight and i think it looks really well and fits the subject matter.
This wiley little Ferret is none other than Midshipman Henry Higgins from the Dream Squadrom and Pratts of the Carribean, furrified of course.
Seems he's out of uniform again... please don't remand him Commodore.
Henry Higgins is (c) to his player, Pen-Dragon778
Ha ha ha, that's some wonderful paintwork! I also love his expression and... well... the whole thing really... only, Higgins get back in uniform! Why you little...
Lol, forgot to say Kat, you're just too good at this. You're making me want to go back to furries when I'm on a roll with the humans... must... resist... furry... charms!!! Argh!
I swear by watercolor block paper, which is basically a bunch of sheets glued together so you don't have to worry about the paper warping while your painting.
The brand is Aqvarelle Arches
the paper itself is 140 lb cold press, 7'' x 10 and 1/4 ''
it was actually purchased on accident, as i prefer hot-press as its a smooth painting surface where as cold-press is rough like "normal" water color paper you would find in paper pads. The only drawback to watercolor block is being able to do only one painting on it at a time without compromising the warp resistance.
i'll probably take a picture of the block itself so you guys know what im talking about its realy great for watercolor.

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and =Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Either way it looks great, both the line work and the painting

Sold my soul to the Devil, not sure how much life it had left in it though, more fool him.
Oh, and Simian? I asked to be a Ferret
I quite like the shading on his sleeve and the blending between cream and blue-ish grey. It looks like a big storm is baring down on him and the crew!
