Hoping for the latter.
As for comment, it's looking good in respect to uniform, anatomy, etc, but the pose looks quite theatrical, what with his eyes looking up, away from whatever's on the recieving end of the sabre. As well the action seems exaggerated. I'm not sure if theatricality was intended, if so you pull it off very well.
